Berliner Philharmoniker/Rostropovich – Tchaikovsky: Ballet Suites (The Original Source Series) (180G) [LP]

Description

In these works, Tchaikovsky blends Russian musical traditions with the grand European symphonic tradition. The repertoire ranges from the fairy-tale ballet music of the Nutcracker to the richly colored Capriccio Italiano and the lyrical Andante cantabile. A varied program with melodic richness, orchestral brilliance and that unmistakable emotional depth that makes Tchaikovsky's music so popular to this day. The Berliner Philharmoniker's performances, conducted by Mstislav Rostropovich, are regarded as reference recordings. The Original Source Series from Deutsche Grammophon features celebrated recordings reissued on vinyl. Remastered by the renowned Berlin-based Emil Berliner Studios using 100% pure analogue techniques to create versions of the highest possible audio quality. Produced on 180g virgin vinyl by Optimal and housed in deluxe gatefold editions, featuring additional photos and/or recording documentation.
