Syd Barrett was one of the most original songwriters and musicians of his generation. His fearless experimentation with sound, using the limited studio technology of the 1960s, helped shape the future of psychedelic and progressive rock and inspired countless artists who followed. In 1967, while The Beatles were recording Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band at Abbey Road Studios, Pink Floyd were just down the corridor creating their groundbreaking debut, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. That landmark album, together with Syd's acclaimed solo recordings, remains among the most influential and enduring works in British music. Clowns & Jugglers is a stunning double album celebrating Syd Barrett's extraordinary musical legacy. It opens with Pink Floyd's unforgettable live performance of Arnold Layne, recorded at London's Barbican in 2007-the final performance by David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright together.
